Afghan Patch Quilt

Patch quilt of squares sewen in a diagonal grid and within a brown border. The squares are fragments of silk ikat, metal embroidery on wool and various other striped and solid materials and most are edged by an embroidered notched border.

Circa: Fragments 19th c., quilt made 20th c.h C.

Origin: Afghanistan

Material: Silk, wool, cotton and metallic thread

Condition: Good
