Hand stitched to a linen-wrapped canvas by Jess using fragments. The woman's portrait is from a 19th century cigar silk, possibly from England. The ikat background is from 19th century Uzbekistan, with a 19th century French floral toile on top. The embellished silk in the bottom left corner is from a 19th century Turkish robe.
