Phulkari Pillow Case

A phulkari fragment made into a pillow sleeve.  Phulkaris are shawls made out of cotton and embroidered with silk.

In this fragment the design which seems like a diamond field is actually of abstracted trees. Like all phulkaris, it is executed in silk floss that was stitched from the back and shows the embroidery on the front as much as possible.
